GAS GAS WIN ALL THREE CLASSES !
Yesterday saw GAS GAS have a ‘clean sweep’ at the 3rd round of the 2005 British Trials Championship at the infamous Adingham Moorside venue.
SHAUN MORRIS absolutley ‘blitzed’ the opposition to win his first British Champ Round win which was well derserved. Riding confidently all day he finished ‘12’ marks infront of Sam Connor (Sherco) with Graham Jarvis (Sherco) in 3rd. JAMES DABILL (Beta) finshed 4th with some superb riding on the dry, grippy rocks.
MICHEAL PHILPSON (Beta) finished in 5th, beating STEVE COLLEY on most cleans.
STEVE COLLEY finished 6th in the end and can only want to forget the day and was ‘VERY’ disappointed with himself at the finish. Series leader going into this round Steve didn’t actually feel the pressure.
He was the leader after the first lap so all was looking good until a ‘freak’ engine stall on the first section, second time round spoilt an ‘ok’ second lap which dropped him to third behind Shaun and Sam Connor.
Not giving up on the last lap, Steve knew he was now fighting for second place as Shaun had a good lead over them all. A bad five ‘5’ on section 4 un-nerved Steve and he was starting to lose his cool slightly which lead on to a disastrous final lap which ended with a ‘classic’ schoolboy error in fiving the last section !
A day to forget for Steve.
He now trails series leader, Graham Jarvis by 3 points and is determined to fight back at the next round in Ireland in two weeks time.
This years championship is looking like it could well go down to the last round, and possibly the last section with the top four having only 4 points between them at this halfway point in the series.
DAN THORPE (GAS GAS) won the Expert Class to extend his championship by 10 points from Sam Ludgate.
Newly crowned 250cc A Class British Youth Champion, SAM HASLAM (GAS GAS), won the youth class beating Lee Sampson (Sherco) and 15 year old Alexz Wigg (GAS GAS).
